New Kopenhagen Fur Quality/OA label

Kopenhagen Fur is launching a new label to integrate the existing Kopenhagen Fur quality label with the Origin Assured label (OA) which was launched in December by IFTF and the four international auction houses Kopenhagen Fur, Finnish Fur Sales, American Legend and North American Fur Auctions.

An initiative launched to assure consumers that fur garments labelled OA come from countries where fur farming is regulated, Origin Assured is already a successful programme. An example of trade regulation promoted by the trade itself, the OA programme is expected to prompt more and more countries to adopt the strict regulations of the world’s leading fur farming countries.

The Namibian government recently implemented nationwide regulation on sheep and lamb farming, responding to lobbying from the country’s own farmers, now entering into the Origin Assured programme.
